Plate 5, Big Creek Bridge

Photographed one day after “Plate 4, Cambria Cliffs” as we continued our family road trip up Highway One, we stopped through Big Sur to enjoy the beautiful views of the central California coast. Along the southern portion of the drive is the Big Creek Bridge. Constructed during the Great Depression it is one of the few historic bridges along State Route 1 in Monterey County. The concrete arch design has become part of the beauty that attracts many visitors each year while simultaneously allowing traffic to travel the scenic undeveloped coastline of California.
