The historic lighthouse built in 1870. The Seashore is the windiest place on the Pacific Coast with winds recorded up to 133 mph. Since it is also one of the foggiest places on the North American continent, the lighthouse was built below the high fog 300 feet below the cliff and warned mariners of danger for over a hundred years. It is now a museum piece which you can still visit today in addition to watching the gray whale migration from the cliffs.
